The Third Coast Foundry, a new venture capital hub for Midwestern startups managed by the University of Chicago's Polsky Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, officially opened its doors at 625 2nd Street in San Francisco's South Beach neighborhood. The opening event was attended by academics, student entrepreneurs, and the Mayor of San Francisco, with remarks from University of Chicago President Paul Alivisatos and Mayor Lurie.
