Founder brief

Who should attend

Mission-driven builders, engineers, and early-stage founders seeking to tackle pressing global challenges through rapid prototyping will find value here. Those aiming to collaborate closely across disciplines will fit right into this agnostic hackathon environment.

What happens

Participants gather at 1885 Mission St starting at 09:00 on October 24 and work through October 26. The weekend focuses entirely on hands-on building, with teams forming and developing functional projects over the three-day sprint without formal pitch opportunities.

Who's in the room

Attendees include civic-minded technologists, designers, and community problem solvers from across the Bay Area. Hack for Social Impact hosts the event alongside seven other co-organizers, drawing a collaborative crowd motivated by tangible societal outcomes.

How to prepare

Bring your laptop, chargers, and development tools fully configured for rapid development. Review current social challenges you might want to address, and come ready to brainstorm solutions, align with new collaborators quickly, and build functional prototypes over several days.
