Founded in 2010 in New York, the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute operates as a university fund dedicated to launching startups and commercializing innovations developed across NYU. Backed by a philanthropic evergreen structure, the institute leads university-wide initiatives to help translate technology created by students, faculty, and researchers into viable commercial ventures with proven concepts.

What they run

All eight of the institute's recorded gatherings take place in New York, spanning general startup events, meetups, and pitch-focused showcases. Following seven past sessions, the calendar features the NYU Tech Venture TeamUp Pitch Fest 2026, scheduled for December 10, 2026, providing a demo day platform for emerging university-affiliated ventures to present their progress.

Who attends

Events draw current NYU students, faculty, and academic researchers developing intellectual property across sectors including artificial intelligence, biotech, hardware, SaaS, and consumer technologies. The room is tailored for pre-seed founders who have moved beyond basic research to establish proof of concept, alongside collaborators interested in early-stage spinouts and university-originated ventures.
