Founder brief
Who should attend
Startup builders currently fundraising, hiring, seeking co-founders, or looking to exchange peer advice will gain the most value. Sector-agnostic founders wanting to share current challenges or recent wins publicly should plan to be there.
What happens
Attendees collect colour-coded badges at 17:30 to signal whether they are fundraising, hiring, or exploring community opportunities. Welcome remarks lead into open community shoutouts at 18:40, followed by a tactical fireside chat at 19:00, structured networking drinks at 19:45, and optional pub drinks from 20:45.
Who's in the room
Serial founders host the evening, including Dec McLaughlin from Stripe, Megan from Aether Legals, and Hamish Geddes alongside Selby Cary from Mapify Logistics. Stephen Tierney and UK Startup Hub co-host, with CMS equIP participating as the event sponsor alongside active early-stage operators and investors.
How to prepare
Decide in advance whether you will take a red badge for fundraising, blue for hiring and co-founders, or green for general community opportunities. Formulate a brief, twenty-second summary of your current startup challenge or win so you can comfortably participate during the open shoutout segment.
